Trading permissions are required in order to provide clients with all the proper regulatory disclosures and provide clients with the ability to trade. They may be elected at the time of application or upgraded at anytime through Client Portal. Upgraded permissions are subject to regulatory review, and any upgrade request received by 11:00 ET on a business day will be reviewed by the next business day under normal circumstances.

Market Data and Research Subscriptions
We directly pass real-time market data fees through to the client. Exchanges generally have a two tier pricing structure for non-professionals and professionals, with professionals paying higher rates.

Notes:
- Because of SEC restrictions, US legal resident clients are not allowed to trade non-US stock and cash index options.
- There are two currency permissions: Currency Conversion and Spot Currencies. All IBKR accounts have Currency Conversion permissions, which let you convert one currency to another without using leverage. Spot currencies, which is optional and requires additional trading permissions, lets you trade spot currencies.
If you plan to trade any Exchange Traded Products (ETPs), including ETFs, with the following characteristics, you may wish to request Complex Leveraged Products (CLP) permissions:
- Any leveraged ETPs;
- Any inverse ETP;
- Any Volatility ETPs;
- Any crypto-based ETP (i.e., an ETP that tracks the value of a cryptocurrency);
- ETPs that have an exotic underlying (Asset-backed Securities, Collateralized Loan Obligations, Collateralized Debt Obligations);
- All ETNs of any kind; and
- Other complex ETPs, particularly if they have embedded leverage or use derivatives.
Consult with your advisor for questions pertaining to trading permissions.
- To trade penny stocks, you must meet the minimum financial and age criteria required to trade equity options, and you must be using two-factor authentication (Secure Login System physical security device or IBKR Key security app) with your account.
- Due to regulatory considerations, Singapore residents with existing accounts under Interactive Brokers LLC (U.S.) are currently unable to trade Singapore stocks through that entity. However, these clients may open an account with Interactive Brokers Singapore Pte. Ltd. specifically to trade Singapore stocks. Clients who are not residents of Singapore may trade Singapore stocks through Interactive Brokers LLC, subject to the applicable local regulations in their country of residence.
